We're a short easy ride from San Francisco. Our home is an attractive, comfortable 3 bedroom, 1.25 bath one-story bungalow with dining room, eat in kitchen, and a wonderful back yard that is just made for a barbeque. A fully equipped, modern kitchen with Viking stove makes cooking fun. One of the bedrooms has been converted to an office with a sofa bed that sleeps 2 and has a PC computer w/DSL internet access. The other bedrooms have queen size beds. The master bedroom has a 37 inch TV with cable TV and a DVD Player. The living room has a 50 inch Sony TV with cable TV, a DVD player and a stereo system that may keep you home but we are so close to San Francisco that would be a shame. It is a 2 block walk to downtown Alameda's markets, restaurants and shops. Supermarkets are less than half a mile away. Our neighbors are wonderful people that we have known for many years. They will be helpful if needed. Arrangements for use of our car can be made.

Alameda is a small island town of 70,000 located across the Bay from San Francisco. It's a bedroom community known for its numerous beautiful Victorians, Crown Beach and its small town atmosphere. No building is taller than 4 stories. Supermarkets, books stores and all other amenities are readily available. There is excellent public transportation to SF by BART, Bus, Ferry or by car. Centrally located, Alameda is only half an hr from SF, 1 hr from the CA coast and exciting places like Bodega Bay and Stinson Beach, Santa Cruz and Monterey are 2 hrs, Lake Tahoe and Yosemite National Park are 4 hrs away, and Reno and Los Angeles are 5 hours.
